Deep Linking: Policy and Rule Considerations for Safeguarding Open Internet Navigation
نویسنده
چکیده
As courts and legislatures struggle with how to regulate the Internet, they must consider many factors in deciding how to apply and/or modify existing intellectual property, tort, First Amendment, and contract law. This paper discusses these factors in the context of ‘deep linking,’1 and suggests that there must be a proper balance between initial entitlements and the ability of private parties to negotiate for their redistribution, a balance that preserves the Internet’s open, end-to-end navigability. This balance must consider economic efficiency, individual needs, and the needs of the larger society as a whole.

Defining a Taxonomy for Research Areas on ICT for Governance and Policy Modelling
As governments across the world provide more and more support to open data initiatives and web 2.0 channels for engaging citizens, researchers orient themselves towards future internet, wisdom of crowds and virtual world experiments. In this context, the domain of ICT for Governance and Policy Modelling has recently emerged to achieve better, participative, evidence-based and timely governance....
متن کاملNavigation Using Hybrid Genetic Programming: Initial Conditions and State Transitions
genetic algorithms, navigation, optimization Real-time navigation requires the dynamic updating of node-node (state) transition costs. These state transition costs are based on, among other things, distance, traffic patterns, and intelligent clustering of nodes based on similarity in the navigator’s intents at each destination, maximum distance preferred between nodes, and other pragmatic consi...
متن کاملIdentifying the adopted Monetary Policy Rule by the Central Bank of Iran
It is obvious that an optimal policy should consider main dimensions of the phenomenon that can affect the transmission mechanism of that policy. In an open economy, it is expected that variables of the foreign sector play important role in its economic behavior. Therefore, it needs that any optimal policy in an open economy to design in such a way which involves changes in the foreign sector. ...
متن کاملOil Price Shock and Optimal Monetary Policy in a Model of Small Open Oil Exporting Economy - Case of Iran
Oil price shocks are the main source of macroeconomic fluctuations in oil exporting countries. It is believed that appropriate monetary policy can help to stabilize these unwanted variations toward optimal allocations. A stochastic dynamic general equilibrium model featuring the properties of both cost push and wealth effect transmission channels is developed for the Iranian economy. In thi...
متن کاملMoney Growth Rules in an Emerging Small Open Economy with an informal sector
This paper is concerned with the saddle-path stability of monetary growth rules in a two-country two-sector dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model. Alongside standard features of emerging economies, such as a combination of producer and local currency pricing for exports, fiscal dominance and oil exports, this model also incorporates informal labour and production sectors and examines how...
